To make sure you have the best possible learning experience, get started by reading these simple tips about setting up your speaking sessions and interacting with your speaking partner.

Increase your options

Increase your chance to choose the best speaking partner for you by interacting with multiple partners. You will have the opportunity to choose a speaking partner that is the best fit and value for your needs. It is also important to realize that not all speaking partners are available for the selected times you may want.

Introduce yourself

Give your speaking partner information about yourself and be open regarding your expectations and the purpose of your session so they can best respond to your requests.

Get to know your speaking partner

Learn more about the host and the services he or she provides. Read their profiles and feel free to ask for any additional information.

Prep everything

Make sure to understand all the details of your session with your speaking partner in advance. Knowing the duration, location, directions, and additional things you might need when you meet  will save time and make things run more smoothly.

Individual or a group

Let your host know if you plan to come by yourself or in a group. There might be extra fees associated with bringing extra learners.

What's not included

Bear in mind that any extra expenses such as transportation, or any additional books or equipment will need to be paid by you and are not included in the speaking partners hourly rate.

Payment and booking confirmation

Pay for your booking only when you have planned out your sessions and are sure that you have chosen the right host for what you hope to accomplish.

Keep in touch

Exchange contact information with your host and contact the person anytime you need to inform him or her about any changes made to your plans.

First impressions

Let your host know what you look like or what you’ll be wearing so that you can recognize each other on the day of your first meeting.

Getting there

If for some reason you aren’t sure where to go, don’t hesitate to contact your speaking partner and ask for assistance.

Fashionably late?

Let's be real, there's nothing fashionable about being late when someone is expecting you. Be sure to contact your speaking partner and let him or her know about any delays you have. Don't forget to charge your phone before your go!

Keep communication on LetsSpeakit!

We strongly recommend that all written communication with your speaking partner stays on the Speaking.Partners platform. In case of any unexpected dispute, it will serve as a record of your interaction.
